Anna Kendrick crashes Cannes Film Festival with ‘mesmerizing’ duet with Justin Timberlake

We all know Portland native and Deering High School grad Anna Kendrick can sing. Her “Pitch Perfect” soundtrack single “Cups” went platinum and she stole the show as Cinderella in the 2014 Hollywood rendition of the musical “Into The Woods.”

Nonetheless, attendees of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in France may have been caught off-guard when she took the stage alongside Justin Timberlake Wednesday for what USA Today called a “surprise” acoustic duet.

Naturally, the appearance took YouTube by storm, with numerous videos from various angles popping up on the site within hours of it taking place.

The pair performed what the newspaper described as a “mesmerizing” rendition of the Cyndi Lauper classic “True Colors.” Kendrick and Timberlake reportedly took the stage after an exclusive sneak peak of footage from their upcoming animated movie “Trolls,” due to be released on Nov. 4.

Timberlake introduced the pair as “Anna and Garfunkel,” and Kendrick feigned nervousness, telling the audience, “We’re just hanging out in your living room and this isn’t a big deal, right?”
