The most popular Halloween costume in Maine this year and how to make it

According to the Huffington Post, Google tracked Halloween search queries from Sept. 8 through Oct. 8 — a time period the Internet giant presumed most people would be looking to acquire their costumes.

HuffPo then used that data to publish a list of the most distinctly popular costumes from each state.

Although Batman wasn’t the top costume choice in any state, people in three states set out to dress up as other characters from the Caped Crusader’s comics, and Maine was one of them.

Here in Maine? Catwoman.

In some states, the top Halloween costumes were basic, traditional classics like scarecrows (Kentucky) or witches (South Dakota). In others, costume searchers went after characters that are more on the obscure side, like Star Wars video game antihero Revan (North Carolina) or My Little Pony Fluttershy (Georgia).

Our neighbors in New Hampshire preferred costumes of the facepainted rock band KISS.

In case the video at the top of the page isn’t quite what you’re looking for in your pursuit of a Catwoman costume — hey, everyone else is doing it… at least in Maine — here’s another tutorial offering a different approach:
